FAQs

Have questions? Here are some common ones we are often asked but feel free to reach out to us and we’d be happy to chat!

  • Participants who join us for this experience are often people who notice some of the following elements about themselves:

    • A feeling of being overwhelmed, when it comes to your career, about what to do next and uncertainty about where to begin finding clarity.

    • Uncertainty about your career path, frustration and pressure (often internally) to have it all “figured out” by now but you don’t.

    • Feelings of isolation and a desire for community on your journey.

    • Wanting to connect with others also considering career transitions.

    • Feeling stuck with too many options and unsure how to progress towards your goals.

    • You are unemployed, employed, partially employed or something in between.

    • Considering a career shift, but unsure about it and the next steps.

    • Seeking a neutral but intentional space to reflect and strategize.

    • Interested in gaining outside perspective on your job search.

    • Struggling with motivation and effective search strategies.

  • We have intentionally created a space where we feel both introverts and extroverts will find ways to connect. In fact, we’re both a blend of introvert and extrovert thinking too! We’ve kept participant sizes intentionally small (groups of under 10 people each) to prioritize everyone getting to know and get comfortable with each other. Through the process, we include a mix of individual and group exercises so everyone, depending on their comfort level, has a chance to both self-reflect and capture their thoughts before sharing with the larger group. You will always be welcome to share only what you’d like with the group.

  • No trust-falls, we promise. These exercises are “workshop-style”, meaning they are guided reflections and brainstorming exercises that will be facilitated by Sara and Sam. These will look like personal note-taking, rapid creation of post-it notes, and small breakout conversations.

  • It isn’t and we love that. We typically have attendees from all kinds of different fields/sectors and years of experience. A mix of experiences provides different perspectives and knowledge to lend to each other. You’d be surprised how insightful it can be to hear from someone outside of your own career path. Time and time again we’ve seen how this opens up possibilities in a way that being in the same circle of people often doesn’t allow you to do.

  • You can expect the below with some variation:

    SATURDAY

    9:00am-10:30am Hellos and breakfast

    10:30am-1:00pm Opening exercises

    1:00pm-2:00pm Lunch

    2:00pm-6:00pm Narrowing exercises

    SUNDAY

    9:00am-10:00am Breakfast

    10:00am-12:30pm Reflecting and refining exercises

    4:00-6:00pm (Optional) Happy Hour

  • Given our small groups, cancellations can be particularly problematic since it impacts the entire group experience so we urge you to think about your schedule before you make the decision to join us. That being said, we know life happens! If you cancel on or before April 13, we can provide a full refund. If you cancel on or before April 20, we can provide a 50% refund. If you cancel after May 4, for any reason, we are unable to provide a refund.

  • While we love your adorable pets (we love ours as well!) we can’t, at this time, allow animals at this venue.

  • Not at all. As part of the sign up process, we ask you about your dietary needs and are happy to include them in the planning process.

  • You will be well on your way to discovering a slew of new options for your work journey but we’re also still around! Every retreat and workshop package includes 3 sessions of post retreat/workshop accountability support. This means that the cohort that you entered the weekend with, will meet to continue supporting each other in that vulnerable time between “I have a plan” and “I have to enact this plan”. We’ll be there to provide strategic support, resources and of course, gentle nudges. Our post retreat/workshop support has typically been highly attended and in fact, is one of the elements we hear most about in feedback after the experience.
